Being away from college doesn't mean that my role as a big brother ends. Yesterday, my mom called me because she needs my help on how to deal with my younger brother, Jason. Jason just started senior year, and apparently, he's been thinking of getting his earlobes gauged. Basically, my brother wants to look like a street rat with holes in his earlobes. My mom discovered my brother's plan when he accidentally left his email account open in her laptop.



The thing is, I'm not sure how effective I'll be in trying to persuade my brother to cancel his plan. I've always been the responsible one. My brother prefers to keep his image as the rebellious son; he thinks it's the only way he'll be noticed. He turns to me in regards to studying and essay writing stuff. But beyond that? He doesn't give a damn about what I think. I really hope he'll realize how stupid earlobe gauging is. I've never met someone with gauged earlobes who doesn't regret having it done, since most employers despise visible body piercings and tattoos.
